There is no way you can perfect the wet in wet watercolour.

You want to try to paint something but the results will be different.

Sometimes wet-on-wet effects will be creating a stunning painting.

There is no end to exploring watercolour painting.

You will get different kind of results in each painting and it is really hard to get the same effect again and again.

In this tutorial, I’m taking a boat landscape scene as an example.

Step 1: Wet the watercolour paper with a light cobalt blue shade, try to paint like clouds.

Step 2: Apply the water in the remaining areas, don’t try to mix with the exciting shade.

Step 3: Paint your desired shade for the cloud depths, I’m using ivory black.

Step 4: Apply a light background colour for long-distance items.

Step 5: Apply dark shades when the objects near you.

Step 6: Paint more colour wait for few seconds then paint with a light colour, it will create a smudged effect.

Step 7: Try to paint as simple brush strokes as possible.

Step 8: Paint the details and add the depth here and there.
