How to draw a neuron or nerve cell (multipolar nerve cell)
Learn how to draw a nerve cell or neuron anatomy structure outline drawing step-by-step tutorial guide for science students.
What You Will Need
- An A4 size plain white paper.
- A pencil.
- An eraser.
You can download the high-resolution Nerve drawing sketch for your school projects and also available for commercial usage on the web, youtube. Print is only allowed for personal use.
Please note: use a light HB pencil to draw all the shapes. Once it is perfect, you can add a second layer with a dark tone. For this tutorial purpose, I’m using the dark outline.
Step 1: Draw a circle.
Step 2: Draw the curved line shapes near the outer part of the circle like in the image below.
Step 3: Add two more curve lines like in the image below.
Step 4: Complete the curved lines by adding two more curve shapes. The shape between the circle and the outer line of the curves is called the nerve cell body.
Step 5: Start to draw the dendrites by adding more curved lines like in the image below.
Step 6: Draw the dendrites branches of the nerve cell and complete the shape like in the image below.
Step 7: Draw the myelin sheath shapes like in the image below.
Step 8: Draw the axon terminal shapes like in the image below.
Step 9: Draw the axon terminal branches like in the image below.
Step 10: Draw the nucleus at the center of the circle. Erase any dirty lines and add a dark tone to the nerve cell drawing.
